Contrary to Klingle Road Feasibility Study,
4th and 5th Battalion Want Klingle Road Opened

DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department Chief backs up fire fighters and emergency medical personnel who support an open Klingle Road.  Chief Few identifies important public safety reasons to reopen Klingle Road:
  • Klingle Road provides an additional route of access for Emergency Services Vehicles to MedStar and the Washington Hospital Center Burn Unit from Northwest DC.
  • Klingle Road provides an additional point of access to combat brush fires within Rock Creek Park.
  • Klingle Road provides another route for Emergency Responses in the event of emergencies.

Fire fighters from the 4th and 5th Battalion say opening Klingle Road will:

  • Put companies in a better position to access the rear of buildings that abut Klingle Road.
  • Reduce response times for emergency vehicles.
  • Provide emergency workers with an additional route to travel.
  • Improve response times to many locations.
  • Provide an added route for routine traffic to cross Rock Creek Park during high travel times in the city.
  • Relieve congestion of major thoroughfares.
Best serve the interests of the public.
